Based on the Exotic Canopy brief, Flores Tropicais means Tropical Flowers in Portuguese. I added a contrasting leopard print to the mix too. I love those contrasting colours and would totally wear this as a print. I could also see it working on homewares and within the stationery market.
Inspirational Lettering Prints
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-09T16:55:42+00:00I've wanted to try hand lettering for so long and case up with these motivational prints. As many creatives doubt their own talents and suffer from imposter syndrome these were the perfect quotes. I'm Not Bossy, I Am The Boss is great for those of us who freelance or are self employed. Sometimes you have [...]
Papillon
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-09T00:04:03+00:00Those who know me know that I love dogs more than people. This little papillon was a bit of an experiment to draw something more realistic and I love how he turned out. Quite the king don’t you think? A few years ago a papillon called Dillon the villain won Crufts. He was quite a [...]
Isabella The Adventurer
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T23:14:55+00:00Isabella Bird was the first female to be inducted into the Royal Geographic Society of London. What better person to name my mountaineer after. You don’t have to be scaling mountains. You may just be aiming for that goal that seems unobtainable. Aim high like Isabella. You never know how far you can go until [...]
The Friendly Vampire
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T22:24:53+00:00They walk amongst us, those friendly vampires. I expect this one would even sit down with you for a chat and a cuppa. Just make sure you wear a polo neck.
Citrus & Tropical Fruits
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T22:19:35+00:00Who doesn’t love a fruit pattern? They are used everywhere. On ceramics, tableware, cushions, fabrics, wallpaper. They never seem to go out of fashion. I created these citrus and tropical fruit patterns to sit together as a group or as stand alone patterns. Three citrus and three tropical.
Highland Hoolie Country Set Pattern
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T22:08:49+00:00When I read the brief for Country Set, there could be only one place to focus this pattern on. Scotland. Albany the stag became the main character of the surface pattern. He was then joined by bluetits, a rabbit and an owl. I love wildlife so I knew I wanted to make my pattern using [...]
Don’t Feed The Giraffes
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T21:57:54+00:00Surely most of us who have visited animal parks or zoos have had some sort of animal encounter like this? The sign says ‘Don’t Feed The Giraffes’ but this young girl has no control over her ice cream here.
Highland Hoolie Characters
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T21:47:21+00:00While brainstorming for a ‘Country Set’ brief surface pattern design the place I couldn’t get out of my head was Scotland. I’ve had a love affair with Scotland for well over 20 years. I researched the Scottish Highlands and came up with this stag character for part of my surface pattern. Albany the stag was [...]
Zoometry
Lindsay Elissa Coils2021-09-08T18:03:01+00:00The brief for this one was 'Geopop'. I love animals so I decided to create a menagerie of animals made up of circles, squares, semi circles and hearts etc. Before I knew it, I had a zoo. These animals are available to buy on clothing at Teemill. The link is under the 'Shop' header.
