Last night I made the spontaneous decision to revisit The Lion King. I never got the chance to see it in the cinema back in 1994 and so my first experience of it was when it was released on DVD. It has always been one of my favourite Disney films and although I own it on DVD, I’ve never actually watched it since unless it happened to be on TV at some point.
I always regretted not seeing those fabulous African savannahs on the big screen so when I heard it was coming back I knew I had to see it, only this time I got to see it in 3D! Now there are some films I think could do without the 3D treatment but I have to say that I think the 3D element only enhanced the beautiful scenery in The Lion King. I loved it just as much this time around if not more.
When it was first released back in 1994, I was still studying HND Advertising and still had a year to go before graduation and could only dream of working with anyone as huge as Disney. Today, I’ve had the opportunity to work on many Disney projects and can only hope there are more to come.
The scene above was created for a range of everyday greeting cards for International Greetings.
