I recently took a much needed break to the beautiful Lake District. After working flat out on an ongoing project, the two nights spent in Bowness-on-Windermere were just what I needed to recharge the batteries. Who couldn’t be inspired waking up to this view?

If you’ve never been to the Lakes before and live close enough, it really is a gorgeous place to visit and the people of Cumbria couldn’t be friendlier. The fells surrounding the lakes are a beautiful sight regardless of the weather and there are some fantastic photos by local photographers available in the many art galleries dotted around the Lakes if you’re looking to take a piece of the Lake District home with you. If you’re a little more adventurous, you could even climb a few of them yourself. Last time, I climbed the highest fell in this picture and the views from the summit were spectacular.

The trees were beautiful this time around with their autumnal colours making a picture perfect landscape. I didn’t want to leave after the three days as it seemed to fly by but it gives me the perfect excuse to go back soon. Now, I wonder what those fells would look like with snow on……
